Traveling Checklist
Traveling need not be nerve-wracking and anxiety-filled. The key thing to do is careful preparation. If we are fortunate enough, we can prepare for our travel well ahead of time. However, if time is not in our side, we need to come up with a faster and reliable means in making sure that our travel will be stress-free. This is where a traveling checklist comes into the picture.
Whether we are travelling locally or to other countries, traveling checklist will save us time and simplify our packing up. It will also save us from forgetting important items, a pet peeve of all travelers. Listed below are things that we need to stuff in our baggage.
Travel documents. The first thing to top the list is passport and visa. We need to keep a photocopy of them too; this will come in handy if we ever lose our travel documents. Also included in the list are insurance documents and vouchers from business establishments like hotels, resorts, restaurants, etc (if we have signed up online).
Tickets. There is no way we can forget plane, bus, and transportation tickets. Not only they cost much, they also require time to be purchased. Put the tickets in a safe compartment of the traveling bag, where they are not crumpled, soaked, or torn.
Money. We do not need to bring a haul of money with us. We will only invite crooks and swindlers along the way. It is enough to have sufficient cash in the pocket, along with credit cards. And to save us from the hassle of lining up – and risk being cheated – in money changer booths, our money should equally in dollar or in local currency.
Contact Information. Include in this traveling checklist are contact information of the traveling agency where you booked the tour package, hotels, insurance companies, and locals you have befriended beforehand. Bring a mobile phone with international roaming feature activated. This will save you from being lost in the middle of an unfamiliar city or locality.
Travel bags. Choose bags that have code lock and safe locks. Security cannot be disregarded, as we can never be safe in every destination we choose to travel. It is also good to choose bags that are spacious enough to cram our clothes and sundry items.
Clothes. Make sure that your clothes are appropriate to the climate of the destination, easy and light enough to be packed, comfortable, and would allow us to walk around in style. Traveling is the time to flaunt our choicest fashion picks and impress people.
Sundry items. Any traveling checklist will not be complete with sundry items like journals, pens, and digital camera. These items would allow us to record special events that happened during the trip. They will also let us relish those moments again in the future. Include too copies of business card. Who knows, we might be meeting interesting people along the way. If there is a need, bring medicines for sea or air sickness, cold, flu, and other travel sickness.
